Rasam Powder - The Soul of South Indian Cuisine

Dive into the heart of South Indian culinary traditions with our authentic Rasam Powder from Masala Mantra. Expertly crafted to awaken your taste buds, this spicy and tangy blend is the secret to creating the perfect Rasam - a soul-warming, soup-like delicacy that's not just a dish, but an experience. Whether mixed with rice for a comforting meal or served as a tangy side to cleanse the palate, our Rasam Powder promises to transport you to the bustling streets of Southern India with every spoonful.

Preparation Instructions:

  1. For the Rasam Base: In a pan, add 1 tbsp of ghee or oil. Sauté 1 tsp of mustard seeds, a pinch of asafoetida, and some curry leaves until they start to pop.

  1. Cooking the Tamarind Juice: Soak a small lemon-sized tamarind ball in warm water for 15 minutes. Squeeze to extract the juice, strain, and add to the pan. You should have about 2 cups of tamarind water.

  1. Adding the Rasam Powder: Stir in 2-3 tbsp of Masala Mantra Rasam Powder, depending on your spice tolerance, and add salt to taste. Let it simmer for a few minutes.

  1. The Final Touch: Add 1 cup of cooked and mashed toor dal (pigeon pea lentils) and enough water to get a soupy consistency. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

  1. Serving Suggestion: Serve hot with steamed rice or enjoy it as a spicy soup before your meal.

Each pack of Masala Mantra Rasam Powder is your ticket to an authentic South Indian feast, promising not just a meal, but a journey through the rich flavors and traditions of India. Embrace the mantra of flavor with Masala Mantra.
